Accounts Receivable Manager – Edina, MN

Northland Group LLC is currently hiring an Accounts Receivable Manager to join the Accounting Team at our Edina, MN location.

The Accounts Receivable Manager will lead the Accounting Operations department and oversee the day-to-day Accounting Operations functions, which includes managing Payment Processors and Remittance Coordinators in the areas of invoicing, payment remittance, cash processing, general ledger activities and month end close of trust accounting books.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Compile data required for client audits
•Conduct departmental audits to ensure adherence to processes and procedures
•Develop and implement new processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies of staff and eliminate redundancies
•Ensure internal and external client deliverables are met
•Ensuring staff adheres to company policies and procedures
•Ensuring staff is working at optimal efficiency and eliminating redundant process
•Ensure all production goals are met
•Handle escalated client issues
•Liaise with operations, IT, HR, Training and Finance departments
•Maintain end of month special client deadline schedule
•Manage departmental expenses
•Manage the reconciliation of client files produced by IT to system generated statements
•Manage the schedule of client scans
•Oversee activity of client accounting and cash processing staff
•Participate in integration of new entities
•Participate in internal and external audits
•Participate in on-boarding new clients
•Participate in staff reviews, counseling of staff and issue discipline where appropriate
•Provide cost reduction opportunities to management where possible
•Review all end of month close outs for all clients
•Review all offline invoices
•Review and approve debtor refund requests
•Review and approve disbursements to vendors for legal and agency expenses
•Review balancing of client cash postings to general ledger
•Review client statement for high profile clients
•Review end of month general ledger package for Financial Accounting
•Review of processes and procedures to ensure controls exist to eliminate errors
•Review of system enhancements
•Test system changes
•Travel to alternate locations
•All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Degree in Accounting, Finance or business or equivalent business experience in operations accounting, cash processing required.
•3-5 years office experience and computer experience.
•3-5 years supervisory experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Proven ability to prepare accurate reports in a timely manner and to consistently meet deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Excellent communication / interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant manner.
•Accurately entering information into Excel spreadsheets and proprietary accounting programs
•Proficient use of MS Excel and other software as needed.
•Ability to use good judgment, use decision making skills, prioritize, be organized and pay attention to detail.
•Excellent problem-solving skills required
•Task and detail oriented required
•Fingerprint and background check required
•Ability to handle confidential information.
•Available to work a full-time schedule plus additional hours when required

•This is a desk job in a standard office environment.

The Payment Processor will post payments received from consumers into their correct open account. Remittance Coordinator – Edina, MN

The Remittance Coordinator will perform duties related to the posting of consumer payments to accounts within the collections system. In addition, they will process and send client remittances in an accurate and timely manner, maintain precise records and assist in other areas in the Accounting department.

Essential Functions:
•Process customer payments.
•Handle mail payments and deposit process.
•Retrieve client remittance reports from the collections system, verify accuracy, process and send remit according to client-specific guidelines and schedules.
•Reconcile client A/R reports and remit discrepancies.

Data Operations Assistant – Edina, MN

Northland Group LLC is currently seeking a Data Operations Assistant to join our Edina, MN Team.

The Data Operations Assistant is responsible for loading client data into processing software, filtering and culling data per client request and search terms, and exporting documents and metadata for review. They are responsible for ensuring the quality of the processed data as well as for making sure that processing resources are utilized effectively and that turnaround requests and deadlines are either met or exceeded.

Roles and Responsibilities:
•Process documents and data in adherence to company standards and client specific technical specifications
•Create and prepare load files and deliverables for review by peers / other departments
•Format data for importing into review software, using internal tools, scripts, review software to manipulate and normalize data to conform to client request and internal standards
•Extract and stage all data to be processed from original files.
•Maintain a sense of urgency on all processing deliverables and internal requests
•Independently work on job requests from a queue as well as by assignment to ensure that jobs progress with minimal delay
•Effectively communicate job status and potential issues with Shift Supervisor/Manager and provide detailed hand off instructions during shift/job turnover
•Perform thorough quality checks on client data and work product at multiple stages of processing to eliminate rework and ensure 100% compliance of data and deliverable to client specification
•Make recommendations for improved workflow, quality, internal documentation and processes to maximize system resources and efficiencies as applicable
•Assist with training junior team members on department processes and applications, and assist with troubleshooting requests and fixes to deliverables
